Ortus Capital Makes Bloomberg's 2011 Top Performing Large Hedge Funds List



Ortus Capital Management's $3 billion Ortus Currency Program Fund managed by Joe Zhou returned 27.9% net of fees in 2010 and 4.9% in 2011 (YTD as of Oct 31) This ranks the fund as the 50th best performing Hedge Fund with over $1 billion in assets for 2011.



The only other Asian fund to make the list is Dymon Asia Capital's Dymon Asia Macro Fund. This fund has $1.6 billion in AUM and is managed by Danny Yong in Singapore. Through October 31 2011 the fund returned 17.8% YTD and returned 15.2% in 2010. Danny Yong Bio:
Danny Yong is CEO & CIO of Dymon Asia Capital, an Asian Macro fund with over USD 1 billion of assets under management, based in Singapore. Prior to starting Dymon Asia Capital in 2008, Mr. Yong was CIO of Abax Global Capital where he was in-charge of the hedging activities of the overall portfolio as well as top-down asset allocation. Before co-founding Abax Global Capital, Mr. Yong was a Managing Director at Citadel Investment Asia, establishing and running Citadel’s Asia Macro trading business out of Hong Kong in late 2005. Prior to his time at Citadel, Mr. Yong was Head of South East Asia Foreign Exchange and Interest Rate Derivatives Trading at Goldman Sachs where he spent 6 years between Goldman’s Hong Kong and Tokyo offices. Mr Yong started his trading career as an Asian currency and interest rate derivatives trader in JP Morgan Singapore. A Singaporean, Mr. Yong graduated from Nanyang Technological University with First Class Honors in Banking and Finance in 1996. He is married with 3 kids.
